Travel Grant
Thank you for your interest in the FLA Travel Grant. Applications have been closed for the 2010 grant year. We will begin taking applications for 2011 in the Fall.
Each year, the Foothills Library Association offers funding to its members in the form of a Conference Travel Grant of up to $500.00. The purpose of this grant is to assist those FLA members with limited or no access to funding to attend a library conference related to their work. The grant may be applied to cover conference fees or the cost of accommodation and travel to the conference.
To qualify for the grant applicants must:
- Be FLA members in good standing,
- Not be members of the FLA executive,
- Agree upon receipt of grant to submit eligible receipts from the conference within two weeks of their return, and
- Agree upon receipt of grant to write an article about the relevance and value of conference attended to their work to be included in an issue of the Foothills Library Association Gazette (FLAG).
- Receive little or no funding, e.g. employer-paid travel grants, grants from other library associations, etc.,
- Have not attended a professional conference in the past two years,
- Will be presenting at the conference, and
- Have served on FLA or other local Library Association Executive Boards, or hosted FLA events.
- Notified during the week of March 31 of the amount of the grant.
- Awarded their grant once proof of registration and/or travel is received by the FLA Treasurer.
