CASLIS is a division of the Canadian Library Association.
The CASLIS Calgary Chapter quarterly Newsletter (ISSN 0821-3127) is included with membership or is available to non-members for $20.00 per year. Advertising rates available.
CASLIS Calgary provides an unmoderated electronic bulletin board and discussion forum. The purpose of the list is to provide information online for CASLIS members and those who may be interested in library and information related activities taking place in general and especially within Calgary. Appropriate topics for discussion include announcements, news, meetings, reports and issues of concern to members.
To subscribe, send a message to majordomo@majordomo.ucalgary.ca and leave the subject line blank. In the text of the message type subscribe CASCAL-L. If you have a "signature" that accompanies all outgoing messages, you must type end on the first blank line following the subscribe command.

The Library Information Studies Alumni Association promotes and supports the goals of the School of Library and Information Studies. The Association offers membership to all graduates of the School as well as to faculty members and students. Alumni show their support for LISAA by paying Annual membership dues. A proportion of membership dues are used to help fund the LISAA Scholarship which is awarded on an annual basis to a student entering the Program. LISAA supports an annual fund raising campaign for specific School projects. LISAA also sponsor various receptions for students and members. A quarterly newsletter is published for members of the Association.
LISAA membership year is September 1st to August 31st. Membership fees are as follows:
- $25 Full member - SLIS graduate
- $15 Friend of SLIS - Non-U of A SLIS graduate
- $5 Student member
Membership also ensures receipt of all issues of the LISAA News, issued quarterly, and information about LISAA awards, the annual general meeting, and receptions. Alumni are encouraged to join!
